How to Put Yahoo Buzz in your Wordpress Blog!

How to Put Yahoo Buzz in your Wordpress Blog!

Yahoo Buzz if finally open to every blogger who wants extra exposure.  It is pretty much Yahoo’s version of Digg but we expect that there’s more potential for Yahoo Buzz as there’s already a big audience for Yahoo.

Here’s how to put Yahoo Buzz in your Wordpress blog:

1. Open up single.php in your Wordpress theme directory.

2. Add the following:

 <script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://d.yimg.com/ds/badge2.js” badgetype=”small” showbranding=”1″>
<?php the_permalink();?>
</script>

3. That’s it.  There’s more ways to add headlines and summary but it seems like that’s actually broken right now as I get the following errors:

Notice: Memcache::get(): marked server ‘localhost:11211′ as failed in /home/y/share/pear/Yahoo/Orion/cache/MemcacheDataAccess.class.php on line 41 [/apiws/Hype.php] Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/y/share/pear/Yahoo/Orion/cache/MemcacheDataAccess.class.php:41) in /home/y/share/pear/Yahoo/Orion/core/sessions.inc on line 68 [/apiws/Hype.php] Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/y/share/pear/Yahoo/Orion/cache/MemcacheDataAccess.class.php:41) in /home/y/share/pear/Yahoo/Orion/core/WSHandler.class.php on line 41 [/apiws/Hype.php]

The code I used for that:

 <script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://d.yimg.com/ds/badge2.js” badgetype=”small” showbranding=”1″>
yahooBuzzArticleId=”<?php the_permalink();?>”;
yahooBuzzArticleHeadline=”<?php the_title(); ?>”;
yahooBuzzArticleSummary=”<?php  the_excerpt_rss(10); ?>”;
</script>

Well, use the first method until Yahoo gets their headline and summary thingee sorted out.  From the error message, I can already tell Yahoo is using Memcache to do most of their caching, smart.

How to Blog For Money!

There’s couple simple rules I go by when blogging for money.

It’s pretty simple but it can help you to become a better blogger while increasing your monthly income.

1. Concentrate on extraordinary results of extraordinary ideas.

What do I mean?

Well, you need to find a great niche before you even start blogging.  That’s the extraordinary idea.

After you do find it, you need to focus on blogging, whether that’s 1 post per day or 10 posts per day, you need to stick with your plan for at least one year before you can expect any extraordinary results.

2. Build on your strengths, forget about your weaknesses.

What do I mean?

You need to make your strengths better and better and better.

This could be your writing style.  As for me, I have always strive to become a humor blogger on every blog I write.  Basically, I try to twist the English language as much as possible to get a laugh from the audience on every blog post.

To do this, I have even bought myself 2-3 books on creative, humor writing.

Forget about your weaknesses because if your strengths are great enough, your weaknesses will disappear eventually.

My weakness is that I don’t have the talent of an English Masters degree but I feel that my writing has been getting better simply from writing a LOT.

This may apply to your life too.  Sometimes people like to point out how bad you are at something but I tend to ignore all that bullshit and prove them otherwise with my strengths.  No matter what you do in life, your strengths will feed you food everyday and gain recognition among your peers.  Forget the haters, they focus too much on others to achieve anything for themselves anyways.

How 15 year old bloggers are changing the world!

The internet world is amazing.

10 years ago when people were hyped up with the dot com boom era, it
wasn’t common to find teenagers making more money than college
graduates from a single website, supposedly constructed as a blog.

I remember the first person in my family to blog was actually my mom.
She is a really good blogger and meets a lot of people her age through
her blog.  Basically as a local city moderator of a niche blog such as
40 year old women’s sports blog, my mom has proved to me what the
power of internet communication medium can do long before I even knew
the definition of blogging.

I guess sometimes things are passed down a lot whether that took 100
years or justa few years in the case of mine.

So how will all this blogging have or will change the world?

Well, it’s already been proved that a single individual with no
knowledge of college books nor sophisticated English language can make
a living from blogging.

While we thought the end of blogging was near, the carrot seems to
trick us more into the future jobs.

Can you imagine a school project consisting of a high school wide
publication by every high schoolers?
Now, that’s some amount of high school grammar and articles, which
could be great for gathering a infinite amount of search engine terms.

Of course, I have yet to hear of such a case but if I was a school
teacher, that might be the project I might go after.

Amount of new information created everyday in our world is too
enormous for television, newspaper, and magazines to cover.

A blog thwarts that by being able to archive old news while providing
news around the clock.

Blog is an Organic Thingee

A blog is an organic thingee.

What does that mean?

Well, a blog is not a static “website”.

You don’t set up a blog and call it quits.  A blog is a continuous stream of information.

A real blog is backed up by a blogging software that has been designed for the blogger to write a new blog post daily, hourly, or even every minute.

Why is this good?

Blogs are called “Web 2.0″ because of their organic nature.  Since blogs are constantly updated, it forces search engines to “crawl” the site, thus giving the blog a stable increase in web traffic.

Let’s say you stop blogging for 3 months due to personal emergencies or vacations.  The blog still maintains the average web traffic you have been receiving and simply won’t grow until you get back to write more.  Of course, you web traffic could decrease a little but because of the “organic” nature, a blog will maintain its search term traffic even if you stop blogging.

A blog is organic because it keeps growing no matter what you do, unless you make the search engine gods mad.

Of course, there are other software that is similar to blogging that you could call organic but no other type of writing platform software gives you all a blog has to offer including blog search engines, pinging, trackbacks, etc…etc…

Blogs will take over the world of information eventually.  (if they haven’t already)

Go to the bookstore and open up “any” magazine and I bet you there’s at least 1 mention of a blog.

Watch MTV all day and there’s a mention of a blog.  (probably more)

Blogs are great business as they are not completely affected by the U.S. economy.  Your readers consist from international readers.

Why you should be blogging?

It’s been getting harder and harder to get a real job in the U.S.  Even when I graduated from college years ago, there were no jobs and there are no jobs now.

Of course, if you finish at top of your class, you would be guaranteed a job but what about the other 99% of college students?

That’s right, the real world is not fair.  No matter how good of grades you get, you are not guaranteed to even get a job in this real world.

So, what are you waiting for?  Go start a blog.  At least you have a backdoor out of the real world.

Start living it up in your home office, save time and carbon footprint by not having to commute 2 hours per day.

There are 18 year olds who are making more money than Stanford MBA graduates these days.  The possiblities are still endless on the internet.

Find a niche, blog, blog, blog, optimize ads, and work from home.

It’s the new world of media, unfiltered, and pure than TV, radio, newspaper, and any other traditional media.

Blogger’s Block - What to Blog About?

Sometimes on days like today, I just simply can’t think of anything to write about on my blog. (this one especially)

Blogger’s Block is a common syndrome among bloggers so don’t freak out on me now.  Tf you have it, it’s pretty easy to get through.

Creative writing can take a lot of effort, especially if you can’t think of anything to write about.

What to do if you have Blogger’s Block:

1. Go do something else, like for me, I like to go smoke cigarettes and watch the ocean.  During that peaceful break, I consciously and sub-consciously think about which topics would be interesting and also show up on the first page of Google.

2. If you can think of an interesting topic and you have something to write, go blog that “thought” immediately.

How did I come up with this post?

Well, I basically had a Blogger’s Block and went smoked a cigarette trying to think what to write about and there is goes. :)

Writing is all about what your mind have interests in.  Writing is easier if what you write about is personally interesting to you.  If you have blogger’s block, take action immediately and get through another blog post.

Blogging is about Fresh Content, You gotta be in the Right Mindset!

If you look at carefully at blogs that are successful, you can see the amount of “fresh” content that’s coming out.

That’s what you need to focus on most, fresh content.   Fresh content is the core of blogs, whether you run a sports blog or tech blog, people want to read about something new, not something everyone knows about or from yesterday.  (That’s right, in the blogging world, even news from yesterday is old for some blogs…)

Now, how to go about fresh content?

First, you need to be in the right mindset.  Get yourself excited and fresh to blog.

For example, for me, I like to blog in the early mornings around 6am to 8am, that’s when my mind if fresh and I can do like 50 blog posts within just 3 hours.

I do tend to get lazy at times and drift down to like 20 blog posts but on my good days, I do try to wake up early and get things done early.  (This is my best hours but it may be different for you so try different times and see what works for ya.)

What do I do the rest of the day?

I go play golf, I don’t need to spend ALL day blogging.  Trust me, you need to find a way to get your mind off blogging most of the time than the other way around.

As a blogger who has blogged almost 2 years non-stop daily, I know that every human being needs to learn how to distract themselves from work.

How long do I blog total per day?

Most days, I blog 4-6 hours depending on how early I wake up and how fresh I am.  But I admit that after doing 20 or so blog posts, my mind is about to burst into flames if I don’t stop blogging.

Find your distraction!

That’s right, you need to learn to distract yourself with fun activities such as going to get a cup of coffee at the coffee shop, work out at the gym, go grocery shopping, or anything that can help your mind get away COMPLETELY from blogging.

Why?

Well, first and foremost, you need to be “super-fresh” to write great content.

Second, you don’t want to burn out and write mediocre blog posts.  Your energy is felt by your readers.  (Even this post, you can probably feel my energy.   Do you feel my power??? )

Third, you need to stay away from the computer at least couple hours a day.   Computers were never made for human nature, only for robots.  If you want to end up an Internet zombie, be my guest but if you want a “life” (as they say, “get a life”), go do something with your life away from that keyboard and mouse.  Besides, it’s only going to help you develop handaches.

Quick Post - Shut All that Crap Out and Make Money Online!

Here’s a quick post, I have been a little busy trying to make money online but you gotta learn to shut all that crap out.

What do I mean?

Well, don’t listen to any blogger who claims that he can make money unless:

1. The blog’s Alexa traffic stats look good.  (Yes, Alexa is not accurate but it does give you a good measure of any blog that’s reliable.)

2.  Is he/she a blogger with experience?  Well, a lot of bloggers I see tell people how they worked in internet marketing for last 10 years or so.

Well folks, blogging is not internet marketing.  Blogging is blogging and only bloggers with experience can tell you how to make money doing that.

Well, don’t check this blog’s stats now, it sucks!  You can check my other site, http://zedomax.com.

I’ve been there, done that, without using any scam methods like some people.

It’s a mini-war out there folks.

Start listening to real people who have experience doing blogging.  Don’t do as they say, use your common sense.

Well, today was a rambling… but yes, rely on great blogging, quantity and quality both rule.

Write good, write a LOT!

Put some adsense and make money…

If you ain’t posting 1 blog post per hour, you are losing the race already…

Selling Links using TNX or TLA

I highly recommend you do not use TNX or TLA to sell links.  These are only cheap and fast way to get your blog’s pagerank.  You might make some money but that will never compare to the money you make selling private ads.

I guess it’s really a choice of the blogger but selling links is like selling off your reputation.

Why?

Well, search engine is built to find the most relevant information.  Selling/Buying links really are black-hat methods although there’s no clear definition to that yet.

Technology is moving so fast and all you can do is sell links to make couple quick bucks?

If money is really the problem here, I really suggest you to stick some Adsense ads in front of your content before selling links.

Eventually, all the link selling companies will go out of business and all the links you’ve bought will become useless.  It’s a painfully hidden secret that TNX and TLA does not want you to know.

Why even bother with drugs (TNX or TLA) when you don’t need it?

Stick with white-hat methods, even selling reviews on your blog might hurt you.

Next time, I will show you how to garner some more Pagerank using simply and easy methods.

To Make Money Online you need to be Passionate about Blogging!

As a blogger with 2 years of experience in many niche blog topics such as technology, home, and others, the one thing I can tell you is that you need to be passionate about blogging.

What is passion?

Well, when I get up in the morning, I can’t wait to do 50 blog posts on my various different blogs. There’s so much information and I want to tell the world about that through my blogs.

Do you have passion?

You need passion to make money blogging. If you don’t have it, it will show up on your writing and your readers will feel it too.

If you don’t have passion, the desire that blogging is one of the most fun things you can do to make money, you should go get a job and stop wasting time.

However, if you are passionate about making money, do 24+ blog posts per day. That IS a guaranteed stable way to build web traffic.

Go look at the top 100 blogs in the world, there’s not a single blog that does less than 24 blog posts per day. Some blogs even do like 30+!

I am sorry, but the truth and the secret is out there, you just need to blog, blog, blog, and blog about it.

If you are not willing or too lazy, forget blogging, you might as well work for some corporation who’s going to slave you away for rest of your life.

Yes, life is tough, blogging is tough. Stop wasting time, you should be able to write 2-3 blog posts in the time you’ve read this blog post.

Get serious now, take action, that’s all I can tell you.

Your Adsense Account Could Be Banned Because Of StumbleUpon

Here’s a warning this blogger got from Google for using StumbleUpon to drive traffic. Although I don’t see how that could be a big problem if StumbleUpon was sending you real traffic but I do see that it’s probably best not to use StumbleUpon for a site that runs AdSense.

This is the message the blogger got from Google for SU traffic:

It has come to our attention that invalid clicks or impressions have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s) through users of third-party programs paid or provided with other incentives to visit your site. Such programs include, but are not limited to auto-surf, pay-to-surf, pay-to-read, or pay-to-click sites. Please bear in mind that if we continue to detect invalid clicks or impressions from these services on your ads, we may disable your account to protect our advertisers.

Just be aware and stick to brick and mortal natural search traffic. That is my advice.
