What Really is Web 2.0+ SEO?
A lot of companies mistaken themselves that they need to pay a Web 1.0 SEO company $10K/year to optimize their websites and I can tell you it’s a complete waste of money.
Here’s a simple breakdown of how Web 1.0 SEO companies sell their stuff:
1. They optimize your meta tags, title tags in your HTML code to really show up first on Google.
Now, this is Web 1.0 style and I make fun of it because it’s such an outdated style of trying to manipulate Google results.
In other words, if you have to change your meta tags to show up first on Google, you don’t deserve to be first.
Google algorithm was made to award democracy of the people and their websites, not to those people who can simply pay SEO companies thousands of dollars.
Now, meta tags, title tags, and all that crap is still important but it shouldn’t cost you an arm or a leg, nor should you spend so much time on it. It’d probably take me 20 minutes to SEO my own blog, although I don’t feel the need to.
Now, let me show you how Web 2.0 SEO companies (like myself) do it:
1. We make a blog.
2. Add great content. (daily)
3. Make blogger friends.
Now, how simple was that?
As simple as it sounds, that’s what blogging does for your company, S.E.O.
Let’s say you had a static Web 1.0 website (build once and its done) and I made similar Web 2.0 blog/website, who’s gonna win?
The answer is always going to be the blog, because people love blogs, they don’t care about boring, static sites.
Next time you get a spam e-mail from a company selling you SEO (whether that’s code changing or buying/selling links), please mark them with a big “SPAM”.
Web 2.0 SEO isn’t about manipulation, it’s about networking and blogging.
The blogsphere has been designed for democracy of the people and bloggers. This model fits perfectly with Google since it’s hard for anyone to really “game” the system.
A lot of Web 1.0ish companies are going to hate me for saying this but those Web 1.0 companies really need to do something about their model of business by making blogs for companies, not manipulating the search results or whatever.
Link buying/selling are still going on, but don’t participate in them because in the end, THEY WILL FAIL, and you just spent $20K on your SEO marketing.
Instead, with the 10 or 20K, you hire blog marketers like me, who will make you a blog while getting on the first page of Google w/o cheating, with honesty and honor.
“My Dad is really big on honesty and honor. He will live by honor and die by honor.”
I am really queued with corporate blog jobs until April next year, but if you need a blog for your company, you know where to reach me: zedomax [at] gmail.com.
