More Updates on the Chrome Tips and Hacks Blog!
Here’s a screenshot of the Chrome Tips and Hacks Blog I started last Wednesday.
I just want to show you that if you jump in at the right time on the right topic, your blog can quickly gain traffic with minimal effort.
The 2nd day spike you see is because I submitted to a social network but you can see that the spike has dropped off during the last couple days.
But do note that over 95% of current traffic over the last couple days is from search engine traffic.
I know, this is pretty much impossible to do with a new blog but I just did.
The main thing you need to learn is that I targetted for Google Chrome Hacks, which I presumed a popular search item for the new browser. I wanted to create a blog that would gather all kinds of information of Gogole(oops, that was Gogole) GoogleChrome tips, hacks, and news. (That’s the ultimate goal really, making money comes second)
Now, I am not making much money (if any) with this new blog but the good thing is that I have already “reserved” my spot on Google to bring a certain number of people to the blog daily.
This average number might drop or increase drastically depending on how well Google Chrome does over the next couple months but the important thing for you to learn here is that it’s possible to maintain a good number of traffic when done right. (and FAST!)
I expect the traffic to stay around 500 uniques per day and steadily increase as more tips and hacks are posted on the blog itself. Well, I hope, it’s still an experiment to me like everything in blogging is.
What’s my goal?
Well, I really want to take this blog to the next level with average daily traffic of 10K uniques. It’s possible if I can keep up the news for the next year or so but I will keep you updated on my latest blog project.
What can you take from this?
Let’s say some new “thing” comes out whether that be an iPod, iPhone, Chrome browser, or whatever. The most important thing is that you make a blog with a “target keyword” you know people will be searching a LOT for.
In my case, I did not target for “Google Chrome” but I did target for “Google Chrome Hacks”. You always want to target a keyword that’s going to be searched a lot, not the main word itself.
