Why I Never Give Up! (Anymore…)

You know, I love playing/watching basketball. Not because I am good at it but I get a “thrill” out of hitting that 3-pointer or watching NBA teams battle it out to the last second at the NBA Finals.

The competition is exciting to watch, especially if it comes to the last few seconds.

The point is, in basketball, no one wins until the buzzer goes off and anything can happen in the last couple seconds.

Tonight, I was rooting for Suns to win (because they are the underdogs) and they actually did well, tying the game with 3.5 seconds left on the clock. And before that, they were losing the whole game.

In the 3.5 seconds left, the Lakers inbounded the ball to Kobe, who made an errant shot. But Ron Artest got the rebound and made the layup in time to win the game.

They did a slow motion afterwards and what I didn’t understand was that after Kobe shot his last shot, all the Sun’s players were just standing around to see if Kobe made it or not, INSTEAD of trying to get the rebound.

In fact, the only guy who was trying to get the rebound was Ron Artest, who had been making almost nothing the whole day.

The point is, Suns didn’t lose tonight because they sucked but because they didn’t go all out at the last 2 seconds.

Well, I am sure they won’t do that again but it was really fun watching the basketball game tonight.

Winning isn’t everything remember but if you don’t win because you didn’t try your best at the last second, that’s a FAILURE.

How can you apply this to your life?

No matter how hard your life is, keep trying your best.

Don’t just work hard but be creative and try new things.

And remember, NEVER GIVE UP until the priest has prayed for you at funeral. And yeah, don’t die either. :)

Your life’s defining moment is always when you are in the worst situations.  if you can define that moment, you will forever relinquish the joy.  If you don’t define that moment because you gave up at the last 0.1 seconds, you will regret it the rest of your life. , , , ,
