I tend to “read” about stuff I buy and eat, especially the small letters in the back that tell what the company/product is about.
In this example, KettleChips explains on the back of their potato chip bag, that KettleChips is made from all natural ingredients and they help sustain the environment through good causes. I like that idea, it makes me want to eat more of these chips. (and I have about 3-5 bags of these on a regular basis)
What can you learn from their brand marketing?
I like the fact that KettleChips is going “green” and makes their products from “all-natural” ingredients.
Just like KettleChips, you should think about having a great story to tell when you launch your products.
My newest project will include lines along, “We made Z0o0 like your mother raised you.” or something along those lines. And it’s true, I am going to care for my new project like it’s my newborn baby. Water it everyday, feed it milk, and all that good, natural stuff that helps business grow.
When you focus on things like that, you can expect long term, “viral” growth of your business (or blogging).
I have done countless blog projects in the past where I didn’t “care” or be passionate about. Needless to say, most of those projects failed and it SHOWED.
Learn to “care” for your work whether it’s for yourself or someone else, it will eventually pay off 100-fold.
Going “viral” may only be the result of you taking care of your baby. (or your business)
Plant that seed, water it when it needs to be watered, keep repeating the process until the plant becomes a big tree.

When Ebay started, they made up a fabricated story that the site was created for a place for the CEO's fiance to share her Pez Dispensers. They had me fooled until the truth finally came out.

Interesting, my point to make a “real” story or story you can associate with but yes, making a fake story sucks.
