Blogging is about Fresh Content, You gotta be in the Right Mindset!
If you look at carefully at blogs that are successful, you can see the amount of “fresh” content that’s coming out.
That’s what you need to focus on most, fresh content. Fresh content is the core of blogs, whether you run a sports blog or tech blog, people want to read about something new, not something everyone knows about or from yesterday. (That’s right, in the blogging world, even news from yesterday is old for some blogs…)
Now, how to go about fresh content?
First, you need to be in the right mindset. Get yourself excited and fresh to blog.
For example, for me, I like to blog in the early mornings around 6am to 8am, that’s when my mind if fresh and I can do like 50 blog posts within just 3 hours.
I do tend to get lazy at times and drift down to like 20 blog posts but on my good days, I do try to wake up early and get things done early. (This is my best hours but it may be different for you so try different times and see what works for ya.)
What do I do the rest of the day?
I go play golf, I don’t need to spend ALL day blogging. Trust me, you need to find a way to get your mind off blogging most of the time than the other way around.
As a blogger who has blogged almost 2 years non-stop daily, I know that every human being needs to learn how to distract themselves from work.
How long do I blog total per day?
Most days, I blog 4-6 hours depending on how early I wake up and how fresh I am. But I admit that after doing 20 or so blog posts, my mind is about to burst into flames if I don’t stop blogging.
Find your distraction!
That’s right, you need to learn to distract yourself with fun activities such as going to get a cup of coffee at the coffee shop, work out at the gym, go grocery shopping, or anything that can help your mind get away COMPLETELY from blogging.
Why?
Well, first and foremost, you need to be “super-fresh” to write great content.
Second, you don’t want to burn out and write mediocre blog posts. Your energy is felt by your readers. (Even this post, you can probably feel my energy. Do you feel my power??? )
Third, you need to stay away from the computer at least couple hours a day. Computers were never made for human nature, only for robots. If you want to end up an Internet zombie, be my guest but if you want a “life” (as they say, “get a life”), go do something with your life away from that keyboard and mouse. Besides, it’s only going to help you develop handaches.

Thanks for the tips. Did you say 50 blog posts in 3 hours? That’s a lot! Congratulations are in order.
I blog for about 3 hours but after that my mind starts to slow down so I take a break and do something else. But I always find myself back in blogosphere soon after and blog hop for another 2-3 hours or so. Generally I think I need to spend less time blogging or too much time on the computer.
Thanks once again for your tips.
Yup, stay out of trouble and great if my tips helped.
It’s really hard to stay away from the computer, isn’t it? Sometimes, you have to force yourself to stop.
Making 20 posts in a morning is amazing. I seem to wired the same way as yourself regarding when I concentrate best. I was posting in the evening, but I find it is faster and more productive to post in the mornings.
